About Akira Komayama

Akira Komayama (born 1981) is known for narrative, humor-filled Pokémon cards, notably the linked Meowth and Inkay illustrations in the 2015 Roaring Skies set. He began illustrating for the Pokémon Trading Card Game in 2010, during the Call of Legends era, and has since produced well over two hundred cards, later contributing some of the game's first Alternate Art rares. Before going freelance in 2009, he worked as a designer at a game-production company, and he also handles design for magazines and other local media.
