About toi8
toi8 is a Japanese illustrator best known outside Pokemon for light-novel and game art, who entered the Pokemon Trading Card Game with a Noctowl in the 2024 Temporal Forces expansion. Born 8 October 1976 in Kumamoto and trained at Yoyogi Animation College, he took the name toi8 from his birthday and debuted as an illustrator in 2002. His wider credits include the light novel Maoyuu Maou Yuusha, character design for the games Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE and I am Setsuna, and background art for anime such as Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
